“And how can they believe in the One of Whom they have not heard?” Romans 10:14

Jesus has called every one of His disciples to be involved in mission in one way or another. Have you ever thought about the opportunities for you yourself to be involved?

Short-term mission teams play a significant part in the advancement of world mission. About 80% of all career missionaries started with a short-term team experience. Many mission organisations have been formed by people who started on a short-term team.

Short-term mission teams give ordinary, but willing, people a chance to be exposed, challenged and trained for missions. It is a safe way for inexperienced, untrained people to take part in and support cross-cultural front-line missions. People who cannot be involved in full-time missions can serve on short-term mission teams, thus multiplying the harvest force, giving missions experience to leaders of churches, prayer meetings and home groups, and refreshing the sending churches at home.

Short-term mission teams are also a major stepping stone for many Christians in developing their own gifts and ministry. They can be a crucial preparation for those preparing to go to Bible School, so that they can see what they are aiming for realistically and discover how to best prepare for their later ministry. Short-term mission teams give God a chance to impress on us once again His heart for the lost and His willingness to use ordinary people to further His Kingdom.

AM-CCSM teams normally last two or three weeks and are led by one or two experienced staff members. These teams are an opportunity for you to serve. At the same time we would like to help you to grow in the Lord and to understand your place in mission work. Before entering China the teams therefore meet for one or two days of orientation and preparation.

Raising the finance for the trip may be a challenge to your faith, so do read the testimony of one team member, which we are sure will encourage you:
"As with many people who join teams to go to China, Ann desperately wanted to go back. She jokingly said to the Lord that she would like to ask that if there was anybody who had the money to go to China but could not go, she would go for them. The next morning, her pastor rang to say that a man from her church had said that he would pay for Ann to go back to China! To say that Ann was "bowled over" is an understatement. Isn't God good! He's got so much for us, if we will only ask."
